On April 30, 2020, Governor Laura Kelly presented her detailed framework for gradually, safely re-opening the Kansas economy. Phase One of “Ad Astra: A Plan to Reopen Kansas,” took effect on May 4, when the statewide stay-home order officially lifted.
On May 14, Governor Kelly signed Executive Order 20-31, which established a new “1.5” Phase, effective May 18.
On May 19, Governor Kelly announced the state would enter into Phase 2 on May 22, given promising trends in the Reopen Kansas Metrics. It will last until Sunday, June 7, assuming the current trends continue.
On May 26, Governor Kelly signed a disaster declaration, calling for special session of the Kansas Legislature.
Phase 3 is anticipated to begin on Monday, June 8, with mass gatherings of more than 45 individuals prohibited. Phase Out is anticipated no earlier than June 22.
